Blackheath is an easy one and a half hour drive west of Sydney (approx. two hours by train). At 1,065 metres, Blackheath is the highest village in the Blue Mountains. We
experience four very distinct seasons, from delightful summers to crisp,
sometimes snowy winters, separated by the dramatic colours of autumn and
spring. Less populous and “touristy” than the better-known Katoomba, Blackheath
is the chosen destination of people wanting to experience the “real” Blue
Mountains.
Great bush walks, superb views and the town centre are all only minutes away from Tullamore. Take a two-minute walk and you’ll find yourself in the beautiful Rhododendron Gardens. Stroll into town and visit any of the great cafes, delis or award-wining restaurants or browse through the numerous antique shops, galleries or book shops (old and new). Not to be missed is the growers market, held the second Sunday of the month at the Community Centre.
If you enjoy sports, the Blackheath Golf Club is in the same street. The swimming pool is only a ten-minute stroll, and the tennis courts only a little further. Blackheath has plenty to offer everyone! |
